Your home or business should receive at least five hours of direct sunlight per day to get the most from solar energy. Obviously more sun is better when it comes to solar panels, however if you get less than this solar energy can still be a viable option. If you are in an area where energy bills are sky high, solar might still save you money even if you don’t have the optimal sun exposure.

If you have room and enough money, the optimal system for solar power is one that uses a sun tracking system for the panels. These systems will follow the sun as it moves during the day. This may cost you a little more at first, but the results in the end are worth it.

Check the inverter frequently if you have solar panels. You need to see a green light that’s solid. If the light is off or blinking, you need professional help. It’s unlikely you have the knowledge to take care of this problem yourself. In fact, having a tech come out should cost you nothing if your panels are under warranty.

Keeping your solar panels clean is essential to getting the most out of them. Dirty panels will not absorb the solar rays as well as clean panels will. It seems to be common sense to keep them clean, but many people assume that the rain will clean them. But they still need a thorough cleaning to keep them in optimum condition.

Once your solar panels are installed, you need to keep track of how much power you are producing and using on a daily basis. Invest in a quality monitoring system and look at the data as often as possible. If you notice your panels are not producing as much energy as usual, it might be time to clean them.

When you’re planning on installing a solar energy system, you should shop around and get a few quotes. You’ll be able to see how much prices vary between providers. While you shouldn’t be completely swayed by price, it’s crucial that you don’t just go for the cheapest since cheaper components can cost you a lot more later.

When people talk about solar energy, they mainly think about the large panels installed on the roof of a home. These are popular, but they are not the only way to use the heat of the sun for power. Install attic fans in your roof. The heat from your attic causes the blades to spin and generate power.

If you wish to get solar panels, start checking the weather. A good rule of thumb is to ensure your panels will receive a minimum of five hours of good sunlight per day. If you enjoy cloudy or snowy days often during wintertime, you are going to want to look at other green energy options.

How Do Solar Generators Work

Do you have a pool? You could save a lot by investing in solar panels. There are small solar energy systems designed to power a water heater or a water pump and since you only use your pool during the warmer months, your panels will work perfectly when you need them.

Ideally you should change the angle at which your solar panels sit at least four times per year, at the start of each new season. Throughout the year, the intensity and angle of available sunlight varies. When you change the angle, you’ll ensure that you’re getting the most energy that you can.

Living a green life helps protect the environment and generally helps you save money. By choosing solar energy options such as solar heating, solar hot water heating and solar lighting, you can rest assured that you are helping to save the planet. Keep your solar products free from dirt and debris for best results.

What Is Needed For Home Solar Power

Always look for a good and qualified contractor to install your solar system. Just because you are having a new technology installed on your home, does not mean that you should look for new contractors. The type of work is very specialized and having a quality contractor with a proven track record is critical to having your system installed properly

Scientists are constantly making advances in the solar field. This is particularly true when it comes to smaller solar systems, the ones that are perfect for homeowners. Therefore, if you didn’t think purchasing a system was right for you in the past, it may be time to reevaluate your decision and consider moving forward with a plan.

An alternate type of solar panel recently developed is a photovoltaic panel. This type of panel uses the sun’s energy to produce electricity. This electricity can be used to power anything in your home that is uses it, or it can be stored in batteries. These panels can be considerably more expensive than the original solar panel.

The information in this article gave you just a taste of what you can do with solar energy. It will help us break our fossil fuel addiction, reduce pollution and save us money, too. These three factors should have you switching today.

Glass from pickup truck shatters on Second Line West

“The vehicle turned and the glass fell out the back of the truck. The driver was given a ticket for an insecure load and the area was cleaned,” said Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Constable Sonny Spina.

Shortly after the incident, police blocked off one lane on Second Line West and some of the glass had been swept up.

Spina said there were no injuries and the only damage was to truck — it got a flat tire.
